SENDCO
We seek to appoint for January 2025 an inspirational and outstanding SENDCO to lead our SEN team at Maney Hill Primary School. We are looking for someone who is a great teacher and understands learning, someone who has experience and expertise in supporting all children to succeed whatever their starting point, whatever their needs.
You will be responsible for supporting children across the school that need extra assistance, taking responsibility for the day-to-day high-quality provision in class and school intervention support for SEN pupils, enabling them to make good progress in their learning. It is therefore essential that you are an excellent classroom practitioner, have a background or genuine interest in SEND provision and either hold the SENDCO qualification or would be willing to complete the qualification and join our Leadership Team.
The successful applicant will:
• Make a valuable contribution to the offering that children receive at the school as part of the provision of high-quality teaching and learning
• Have some experience of working effectively with the Birmingham SEND team and the local offer for SEND children and families
• Raise the standards of SEN pupils throughout the school
• Have a passion for providing a curriculum for all children to succeed
• Be able to work effectively within a supportive, committed and successful staff team liaising closely with teachers, Learning Support staff and the school’s Family Liaison Officer
• Work closely with external agencies and providers of support
• Have experience of the demands of generating reports and providing paperwork and evidence for EHCPs and pupil support
• Work closely supporting parents of children with Special Educational Needs
• Co-ordinate and deliver high quality training for staff
• Have high aspirations for themselves and a commitment to further development.
