Parents' Association

Maney Hill PTA

Welcome to the Parent Teacher Association page. We hope that this will give you an idea of what our PTA is and does and will encourage you to think about putting yourself forward as a PTA member or helper.

What is the PTA?

Maney Hill Primary School PTA is a registered charity and runs mainly as a fund-raising organisation, although does support the school in a number of practical ways also.

The PTA members help the school run events to raise funds for the school, in order to enhance their school experience, such as additional ICT equipment and playground materials. We also help support the school with funding for educational/fun school trips, such as theatre visits.

Events

The PTA run many events throughout the year. The events not only support the school but can also help bring the local community together and help parents become more involved in the school.

Here is just a small list of some of the things we do:

  • Summer Fayre
  • Fun Run
  • Summer ball planned to celebrate the school's 50th in 2015
  • End of term discos
  • Nearly new uniform sales
  • 100 club
  • Quiz nights
  • Ladies pamper evening
  • Bonfire night celebration
  • Christmas Fayre
  • Bags to school
  • Christmas cards, designed by your children

Information about events will be sent home in the form of newsletters in children's school bags.

To receive updates of what will be happening at events and how you can support your child's school please 'like' us on Facebook.

We also support the school by providing refreshments at various events, such as sports day and new parent events. This is also a good time to get to know other parents and PTA members.

All our PTA members are friendly and approachable, we always welcome new ideas from both PTA and non-PTA members.

Who helps to run our school PTA?

What does the PTA spend money on?

The proceeds from every Maney Hill Primary School PTA event are spent on things for the school and the pupils.

Agreement is made between members of the PTA and the Management Team at the school, as to what is spent on what things.

Below is just a small list of the things we have helped provide for the school:

  • The Pavilion at the front of the school.
  • Markings for playground games.
  • iPads and Laptops.
  • Funds for school trips.

Maney Hill Primary School PTA raises between £10,000 and £20,000 per year. These important funds help support the school to buy things that otherwise it may not be able to obtain for the children.

Where did the logo come from?

We asked all the pupils from Year 1 upwards to help design a logo for the PTA. Tess Hardy designed the winning logo. Well done Tess and thank you.

How can I help out?

  • Like us on Facebook.
  • Attend events, they are great fun and a good way of getting to know the school and other parents.
  • Talk to PTA members in the playground.
  • Offer to help out at events – even for a short period of time, or to help plan/organise things.
  • Attend our PTA meetings.

50 Years of Maney Hill Primary School

Our school is 50 years old in 2015. To celebrate in style we will be holding a summer ball.

Details of this fantastic event will be available nearer the time. We are hoping to raise enough money to buy interactive white boards for the classrooms and other much needed ICT equipment for the school.
